BELANDA’S BACK!!! We’re happy to have her back and she’s happy to be here. :) Walking around wears her out, but not enough to stop her from missing out on what’s happening around here. She likes to be where the action is.

Continue praying for the country of Haiti and the results of this election. Officials have said they’ll be making an announcement at midnight tonight. Depending on what kind of announcement is given, Haitians are known to stop whatever they’re doing and start rioting. I’ve heard said that’s the reason they wait till odd hours of the day to make the announcement. What tomorrow holds we really don’t know. But it’s an incredible feeling to have a relationship with a God who knows the future and is listening to the cries of our heart.

Belanda Update

Belanda is doing well. Her and Ronie both seemed tired this morning. Most likely due to the baby boy that was born yesterday and is staying in the same room as them. The hospital is saying they’ll be letting Belanda come home tomorrow. Pray that the doctor comes tomorrow to sign the papers releasing her and that her foot would continue to heal.

Update on Belanda

The operation yesterday went well. The hospital is only a few minutes away and we’re visiting at least twice day. We take food for her as well as Ronie, the yard lady who is staying with her. We saw a big difference in Belanda from last night to this this morning. Today she’s not in as much pain and she was more talkative. We took a few books along and she seemed to be glad for them. The hospital says she can go home on Wednesday. Keep praying for Belanda, that she would draw closer to God over this time and also that her foot would heal properly.

Belanda

This is Belanda. She was one of the girls we took home after the earthquake. In the beginning of this month, when Ang and Elizabeth went to her area, they discovered she had broken her foot back in October and never got it fixed. They brought her back to Leogane with them and we've been taking her to different places for exams and xrays since then. We got the results of the last exam back on Friday, paid for the operation on Monday, and took her to the hospital today. If everything goes as planned, they'll be operating tomorrow. Belanda is pretty worried about tomorrow...pray for her and also for the doctors.

As some of you may know, Gina (one of the Haitian ladies who worked in our yard) got married on December 25th. The Leogane American staff (minus Marion, who stayed behind to watch the yard), the little girls, and some of our Haitian employees filled up 2 vehicles and headed into Port au Prince early Saturday morning to attend the wedding.
