Birthdays…

“Bonne FĂȘte Novanm…” It is a good thing they didn’t sing Happy Birthday for each one of the girls separately or we would have been sitting there all night :). I have been wanting to make this cake and since I had so many cakes to make yet, (I know it’s terrible to be behind in birthday cakes) I would put them all in one. :) They loved it. And didn’t even fight for the extra candy! bdays1

The girls have grown up soo much since they came. This is the third birthday these girl’s are celebrating here. I can’t believe how time flies!! And to see how much they have changed in the time they have been here, has been so encouraging. I just pray that they will allow God, to continue, to soften their hearts and see their need for Jesus.

Tea Party Time

On Sun. a few of the girls decided to make a tea party for everyone that wanted to come. Most of the little girls wanted to come, but there were a few, I don’t know why but they didn’t want to be included…? I helped a few of them make some cookies, and the rest was all them! They had it all planned out. And did a great job!

They had so much fun, planning and serving. They did a great job!! We had a good time, and I even tried to tell Fleunese that at a tea party, you eat with a fork “only” and don’t shovel your food off your plate into your mouth. :) She had kinda a hard time waiting that long till it reached her mouth. :) So Fleunese!

thankfulness…

I know Thanksgiving is past and gone, but… thought we would let you know what we did anyway.  The Port staff, came and joined us for the day. Didn’t have  a lot of action, but was great just relaxing and taking it easy. It was very good to spend time with our “Haiti family”!

What is thankfulness?
”feeling or expressing gratitude”
We should be constantly express our gratitude to God! Our Holy Master, who loves us very much, and enjoys blessing us! Are we a blessing to Him?

A few of the MANY things we are thankful for…

  • Our Loving God and Father!!
  • Faith and God’s Word
  • God’s protection
  • Each one of our little girls DSC_1198
  • Family and Friends
  • internet connection
  • our “Indian” friends

[a big thank you to Allison and Bethany for taking us up on our dare and making it seem more like Thanksgiving-you guys are great!!!]

I hope you take some time today and thank God for what He has done for you! Not just what He has given you but what He has done and is doing in your life.

in the midst of the storm…

DSCN8323a

Wherever we are in life, hard times or good times, and no matter what we are facing, God is always there.  But we have to choose if we are going to allow God to carry us through the storms…

DSC_0933a Just had to share these pictures with you… Loved her hair, her sister did it for her, when she was getting ready to come back to Leogane after visiting her family.DSC_0946

Monique is a shy girl, well she appears to be shy, but if she is totally comfortable, she can be ornery and talks like crazy. But I often wonder, really what is she thinking, what all has she gone through? She as many of the others comes from a non Christian family. If you think of her, join me in praying that God will continue to seek her heart, and that she would be willing to open her heart and listen.

DSC_0943a

I hope as you go through this next week that you would join hands with those around you, and continue to seek God’s face and draw closer to Him!

Peace

We’ve got the power in the name of Jesus

We’ve got the power in the name of the Lord

Though Satan rages, we will NOT be defeated

We’ve got the power in the name of the Lord

For many years now, Satan’s tried to stop us

But the church of Jesus, is still alive

Like a mighty army, we keep marching onward

Winning every battle, with the Lord by our side

We’ve got the power in the name of Jesus

We’ve got the power in the name of the Lord

Though Satan rages, we will NOT be defeated

We’ve got the power in the name of the Lord

Everybody can be great. Because anybody

can serve. You don’t have to have a

college degree to serve. You don’t have to

make your subject and your verb agree to

serve. You don’t have to know the second

theory of thermodynamics in physics to

serve. You only need a heart full of grace.

A soul generated by love.
